Tell us a little about yourself. Where were you raised? Where do you live now?
Raised in Santa Barbara, married in West Virginia to a wonderful mathematician (and proof reader!), and living now in Rochester, New York. We have two black cats, both rescues: Miss Myrtle the Hurricane Cat, and Banichi the Assassin.

At what age did you realize your fascination with books? When did you start writing?
I started reading science fiction as early as I can remember, AND the romance novels I snuck from my mother's closet. (I don't think she ever figured it out!) While recovering from a near-fatal illness in 2011, I wrote a story about a little girl, dabbling her feet in the water – and ended up with a best-selling science fiction romance, The Marann.

Who are your favorite authors to read? What is your favorite genre to read. Who Inspires you in your writings?
Sharon Lee, KJ Charles, Jane Austen. I love reading science fiction and historical romance. Inspiration? Sharon Lee, for sure.

Tell us a little about your latest book?
The next book in the Tales of Tolari Space is about a social researcher from Earth whose sabbatical goes horribly wrong and delightfully sideways when he's kidnapped by his research subjects. And when he falls in love, it's with a woman it would be a crime for him to touch. Watch for excerpts in my newsletter, and a scheduled release this Spring!

Tell us a little about yourself. Where were you raised? Where do you live now?
I was born in Preston, an industrial town in the North West of England, but I was raised in Thornton-Cleveleys, a smaller town in the Blackpool area. Blackpool, amongst other things, is the UK's most popular tourist destination, a kind of 'poor man' Las Vegas. After completing high school and college, I joined the Royal Navy. In addition to serving at sea, I had the opportunity to work in British embassies across South America, including Argentina and Uruguay. After I retired from the Navy, I made my home in London; however, soon, I was off on further adventures when I was hired by a well-known Australian TV producer and his author's wife to work aboard their superyacht. After seven more years of traveling the globe, I eventually settled in Savannah, Georgia, before I finally (I hope) moved to Fort Lauderdale, Florida. I'm married, have one wonderful daughter and two equally wonderful step-daughters, and a cat named Mike.

At what age did you realize your fascination with books? When did you start writing?
I was an avid reader from an early age. I began reading 'grown up' novels at the age of ten and it was hard to find me without a book in my hand. I read extensively when I was in the navy and working overseas and I always wanted to create something myself. I began by writing short stories, which were not very good, but I had no intention of publishing them. As time went on I wrote more, until I eventually wrote my first book, The Gordonston Ladies Dog Walking Club, which I did nothing with for three years.

Who are your favorite authors to read? What is your favorite genre to read. Who Inspires you in your writings?
My favorite authors include Agatha Christie, Ben Elton, and John Kennedy Toole. I also enjoy JK Rowling, C Terry Cline, Jnr, and Richard Osman. My favorite genres to read are dark comedy and mysteries. However, a combination of both is my ideal genre.

Tell us a little about your latest book?
My latest book, 'A Cozy Mystery…With Cupcakes and Zombies' is a parody of poorly written cozy mystery novels. I do enjoy cozy mysteries, don't get me wrong, but I also love comedy. The book centers around Poppy Darling and her unorthodox methods of solving murders while baking cupcakes in her spare time. It is pure parody, with the character the polar opposite of the usual cozy mystery heroine. She is spoilt, entitled, inadvertently racist, and homophobic, as well as unlikeable. Luckily, she is aided by her sidekick, Chelsea Sweetheart, who is more like a poorly developed cozy mystery heroine. The book is purely tongue-in-cheek and is my first real comedy since my novel, The Reluctant Jesus, won the Reader's Favorite Book Award for Comedy in 2014. The book took me four months to write; it is short, and if you enjoy satire and deliberately over-the-top characters, then any reader would enjoy it…apart from fans of some cozy mystery writers!

Tell us a little about yourself. Where were you raised? Where do you live now?
I grew up in Houston, Texas, and have lived in Austin for the past thirty-three years. My wife and I will celebrate our forty-fifth anniversary in August. We have two grown children, one grandson, and a very cute dog.

At what age did you realize your fascination with books? When did you start writing?
My parents were avid readers. My father cut it close when taking my mother to the hospital for my birth because he went back into the house to find a book to take with him. My mother's favorite saying was, "If you can read, you'll never be bored."
I have enjoyed reading ever since I can remember. I usually have two going at any one time, one downstairs, and another upstairs on my nightstand.
I wrote and published my first book in 2004. I have been writing ever since, having pivoted from non-fiction (history) to historical fiction to crime fiction.

Who are your favorite authors to read? What is your favorite genre to read. Who Inspires you in your writings?
I enjoy several genres, but these days mostly read thrillers and crime fiction. Favorite authors include Michael Connelly, Elmore Leonard, Craig Johnson, and Jeff Carson.
I am particularly inspired by Jeff Carson, a self-published author who has written an eighteen-book series about a rural Colorado lawman and a two-book (and counting) series about an Italian policewoman. He is a true indie success story, having earned a living with his writing for several years now. His books are riveting.

Tell us a little about your latest book?
"Second Death" is book 2 in The Adam Cash series, which features the protagonist working as a county deputy in a fictional small town in the Texas Hill Country. In Second Death, a mysterious truck explosion is written off as an accident until Cash finds a gold coin in the dead driver's pocket. His investigation puts a newly arrived woman and her husband in his sights who harbor deadly secrets. Only Cash can ferret out the truth … if he can stay alive.

The plot is loosely based on the tragic tale of Madeline Murray O'Hair, who achieved national prominence in the sixties and seventies as the woman who challenged mandatory prayer in public schools. O'Hair lived in my Austin neighborhood shortly after I moved to town. Not long thereafter she was murdered, but only after being kidnapped and forced to buy a small fortune in gold coins and give them to her kidnapper. Her dismembered body was found buried on a remote southwest Texas ranch.

My goal with the series is to write at least six books. I've started the third, tentatively titled "Caliche Creek," and am shooting for a fall release.

Tell us a little about yourself. Where were you raised? Where do you live now?
I was raised just south of Atlanta in the small town of Fairburn.
I currently split my time between Newnan, Georgia, and Biloxi, Mississippi.

I have two AMAZING grandsons and a granddaughter on the way! I am the proud owner of a blue tick coonhound named Lily and two mutt rescues named Leonard and Wally. Running a close third are my three grown sons and daughter. (I’m sure they’ll appreciate that). LOL…

I stay busy with all of the exciting activities in Biloxi and surrounding areas: writing, gardening, and traveling. My favorite activity, hands down, is visiting book clubs and meeting people who enjoy my books. At what age did you realize your fascination with books? When did you start writing?
My mother read to me from the time I was a toddler. How fortunate was I?
That instilled a love of reading in me. I had a public library just around the corner from my childhood home, and I can remember getting my first library card like it was yesterday.

After a stern talk about how serious the responsibility I was undertaking, librarians Mrs. Hart and Mrs. Tierney presented it to me. The first books I recall checking out were "The Boxcar Children, Henry Reed’s series, and Encyclopedia Brown." After reading them, I’d start over again, returning to the familiar spot where I was certain to find them.

I couldn’t wait to get out of school for the summer so I could participate in library activities. If I read a certain number of books, I receive a very coveted certificate, which I proudly post in my room. No, we didn’t get a free pizza or a ticket to Six Flags! In the olden days, a certificate of achievement meant much more.

I never imagined that one day I would be a writer myself. I enjoyed the work of others far too much. As I began pecking at the keys as a hobby, I realized there might be some interesting stories in this noggin of mine.

Who are your favorite authors to read? What is your favorite genre to read. Who Inspires you in your writings?
My favorite genre, surprise, surprise, is mystery.
I have many favorite authors, including, but not limited to, Sue Grafton, Karin Slaughter, John Grisham, and Tami Hoag. I think my biggest inspiration came from watching Angela Lansbury’s television series, Murder, She Wrote.

My parents and I watched it every Tuesday night at 8:00 when I was in High School. My mother would make popcorn in a stockpot, and we’d drink ice water. I loved Cabot Cove and the setting. Places continue to inspire me. Once I find the perfect place for my novel to be set, then inspiration comes to me.

Tell us a little about your latest book?
My latest book, which just released, is a Clara and Iris novel.
For those of you not familiar with these two ladies, you have missed out.
Inspired by my late mother and her best friend of over fifty years, these characters are funny and intuitive, and despite their unconventional investigative methods, they are quite successful.

In their mid-seventies, recently retired and widowed, they both decided to open a private eye business. The pair makes for very unassuming investigators, making them all the more effective. This particular case is not their typical one. The crime happened seven years prior and has not only been solved but the two convicted of the double murder are already incarcerated.

The sister of one of the convicted men and the sister of one of the murder victims are convinced the Atlanta Police Department has the wrong two people in prison, but they have to convince Clara and Iris that they’re onto something. With the help of their trusted team, the PIs embark on a dangerous pursuit of justice.

Will they discover the men are innocent and will they live long enough to prove it?

Tell us a little about yourself. Where were you raised? Where do you live now?
My full name is McCracken King Poston Jr. I live in Ringgold, Georgia, where I also work. I am a criminal defense lawyer licensed in Georgia and Tennessee. I will also go to other jurisdictions on a case-by-case basis.
My first book, "Zenith Man: Death, Love, and Redemption in a Georgia Courtroom" (Citadel, Hardcover, February 2024), is about a murder case in which I was the defense lawyer.

At what age did you realize your fascination with books? When did you start writing?
I enjoyed reading as a student, but I didn't start writing until the obsession set in to write this story. My publisher wants me to write more books, but I am thinking I may have to fictionalize the future ones.

Who are your favorite authors to read? What is your favorite genre to read. Who Inspires you in your writings?
I always enjoyed the stories of H.G. Wells and the poems of Robert Frost. and I like humor as well. But my first love was historical nonfiction.
