Author Bio:
Dianne Deaton Vielhuber was raised on a small Wisconsin dairy farm where her parents instilled within her traditional Midwest values. On their family farm, work was never considered a dirty word, and everyone was expected to pitch in.
She earned a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in Agricultural Journalism. After working in communications and marketing within the agricultural industry for many years, she felt called to serve overseas as a missionary.
After a life-changing year teaching English at a university in Almaty, Kazakhstan, Dianne returned to the United States. She expected to return to the business world. Rather, God called her into pastoral ministry. Dianne earned a Master of Divinity from the University of Dubuque Theological Seminary while serving as a student pastor. She met Hubby Rick at the first churches she served as the pastor. In 20 years, Dianne served five different United Methodist Churches as a part of three appointments within the Wisconsin Annual Conference.
Today, Dianne wears a variety of hats. She works part-time for a agricultural company, volunteers within her community and regularly serves at churches either leading worship or providing music. She writes regularly for her blog, Simple Words of Faith, where she explores finding God in everyday life.
Dianne journeys through life with Hubby Rick. They have six grandchildren along with Rick’s adult children.
