MARY raised in a house of fallen doves by Janis Hoffman
This handwritten story was in an old chest I bought at an auction in Walton, NY.
The name Mary Faraday does not appear in any of the old records. Whoever wrote the words shamelessly talks about things rarely mentioned in stories of the Wild West. She describes the way it really was long ago in the gold fields of the Sierras and among the soiled doves of San Francisco. Not the sugar coated fairy tales of book and Hollywood.
Ride along with her into the Wild West of long ago. Into the Vastness.
I liked the humor…Indians and whorehouses and the characters were developed to make the story fun. Also loved the old pictures.
