“A delightful book, fun, edgy, unforgettable.” -Mary Kennedy, Best-Selling Author of the Dream Club Mysteries
A seventeen-year-old high school dropout with a hidden talent, Mona, is sitting at the counter of the Fountain Coffee Room, trying not to attract the attention of Maddy Miller, a feisty, unfiltered, hotshot producer, who’ll decide if her brother Joost Larvink, gets to make his Hollywood debut. But before she knows it, Mona is kneedeep in Hollywood politics and some desperate characters, including a stoner screenwriter, engaged to Maddy’s daughter, an action hero jock lost in the closet and an overly dramatic A-list star about to become box office poison. All Mona wants to do is drink and float in the pool. But with her brother’s career at stake, Mona is determined to bend the town at her own will.
Enter Elki Daniels– a carefree K-town native, who spends her days chasing obscure movie memorabilia, healing a traumatized puppy, and acting as de facto leader of a group of defiant girls. Elki is a Hollywood insider who can explain this duplicitous town, and why not, even life.
While steering her brother towards success and away from another nervous breakdown, Mona hooks up with the wrong guy, goes along on a burglary spree, has to save a deranged Mexican gardener and even risks her own, and her best friend life, in Moroni’s gleeful and riotous takedown of Hollywood.
