Tell us a little about yourself. Where were you raised? Where do you live now?
I was born in Ontario, Canada, an only child raised in a variety of locations as we moved across Canada following my father's constructions jobs. I went to a variety of schools, in a variety of towns, moving once a year until I was 12 years old. I've lived in British Columbia ever since, with the exception of two year period when my husband Brian and I cruised down to Mexico in our liveaboard sailboat
We're now living on beautiful Vancouver Island on Canada's west coast with our Siberian Husky Winter.
At what age did you realize your fascination with books? When did you start writing?
I've always been fascinated with stories. My father loved both telling stories, and both he and my mother loved reading books. We were a family of bookworms. I visited my first library when I was nine years old, living in the remote coastal town of Port Alice on the west coast of Vancouver Island. It cost five cents to borrow a book for a week, and I soon borrowing all the books I could with my weekly 25 cent allowance. The following Christmas, when we were living in Vancouver, I was given a typewriter and I was soon typing my own stories.
