Featured Interview With Stephen M.A.
Tell us a little about yourself. Where were you raised? Where do you live now?
I'm a first-generation tribal descendant from a reservation in Montana. I now live and write in the Northeastern United States with my furball Citrine.
At what age did you realize your fascination with books? When did you start writing?
I'm a life-long reader, but went professional the year before kindergarten when I received the E.B. White box set for Christmas.
Who are your favorite authors to read? What is your favorite genre to read. Who Inspires you in your writings?
Sci-fi has always been the genre that calls to me most. Currently, I'm a big fan of John Scalzi, Ann Leckie, and Martha Wells.
Tell us a little about your latest book?
Tiny Planet Filled With Liars is what I consider my "first" book. After dabbling in another genre under a different pen name, I'd failed quite hard—probably predictably, considering I had no personal investment in the category. After an emotional breakdown while driving home from a trip to the city one night last December I finally gave myself permission to write something for ME, and had the first five chapters of TPFWL completed by morning.
