Featured Interview With Ron Clark
Tell us a little about yourself. Where were you raised? Where do you live now?
Ron was raised in Corpus Christi, Tx on the Gulf Coast spending summers in Luling, Tx close to San Antonio. He attended Del Mar Community College and earned an A.A. in pre-pharmacy. He then attended the University of Texas College of Pharmacy at Austin earning a B.S. Ph. He practiced pharmacy for 42 years.
In 1982 he married the love of his life, Kitty, and they have been married 36 years. They have three children and six grandchildren. He is now retired, he and his wife, Kitty, now live in New Fredericksburg, Texas. Together, they have a passion to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ. They have served on mission trips to Thailand and Columbia (there's nothing like waking up in the morning and seeing the military surrounding a house across the street from your hotel) as well as traveling to London, France, Tokyo, and numerous cities in the U.S.
At what age did you realize your fascination with books? When did you start writing?
My love of books started as early as third grade and really blossomed in my sophomore year in high school. I began writing in 2010, not long before my retirement.
Who are your favorite authors to read? What is your favorite genre to read. Who Inspires you in your writings?
My favorite authors are Tim Downs (The Bug Man Series), Bodie and Brock Thoene, Dan Brown, and Emily Organ. I do not have a favorite genre, my taste is varied. I like adventure, mystery, crime-solving, even some time travel thrillers. The God Portal is one of my favorite time-travel novels.
Tell us a little about your latest book?
My most recently published book is The Prophet's Secret. I re-published the book with Kindle Press. The story revolves around the search for the worship implements from the Jewish Tabernacle which was instigated by a letter supposedly written by Jeremiah the prophet. In the letter, Jeremiah claims to have hidden the items in a cave on Mount Nebo, Jordan.
I worked on The Prophet's Secret on and off for a year before publishing. My first publisher, Tate Publishing, went out of business shortly after the book was published and kept the royalties of a large of writers and artists. They were prosecuted by the Oklahoma AG and a settlement was reached for partial reimbursement.
