Featured Interview With Author Robert Scheck
Tell us a little about yourself. Where were you raised? Where do you live now?
I am a 24 year old indie author living currently in Utah but having grown up in California and Colorado and spending a lot of time in Connecticut for work. I've loved writing and reading and books in general. I've actually always been writing since I was seven but didn't publish my debut novel until May 20th, 2020. Since then I've been hard at work on the second book in the trilogy as well as a murder mystery Kindle Vella series on Amazon and a book of poetry.
I do not own any pets though corgis are my all time favorite dog. My job has me moving about the continental US very much so it's sadly not feasible to have one, but I do hope someday. My parent's dog is my adopted pet in the meantime.

At what age did you realize your fascination with books? When did you start writing?
I realized at age 5 I loved reading. At age 7, I started writing and began writing short stories. I still have my original cardboard covered book of short stories as well as my first ever full novella I wrote at 10 years old but never published. Since 2013, I've been writing more seriously and finally got my debut novel published through Amazon's KDP as well as Ingram Sparks. I use a professional company to help edit and format all my work.
Who are your favorite authors to read? What is your favorite genre to read. Who Inspires you in your writings?
Oh this is an amazing question! J. R. R. Tolkien and Brand Mull are two of my absolute favorite authors with Ridley Pearson and Rick Riordan coming in close spots. Each brings a completely different perspective to fantasy. My favorite genre without a single doubt is fantasy. It's my goal to return to the genre of fantasy for all the years it gave me. Fantasy shaped my childhood.
Tolkien and Mull have inspired me from the moment I read them. Their works are original and perfect.
Tell us a little about your latest book?
My debut novel, Shadowed Time, is a adventure/fantasy book starting in modern day Colorado. Main character at age 16, Phoenix Dunnigan Rather, is a high school student enjoying the fall weather when his parents are kidnapped by a shadow villain. Phoenix leaves school with his friends and an elderly guide to get them through nature to Pikes Peak where The Black Widow is holding his family. But the entire ordeal is filled with betrayal, guilt, horror, torture, and blood. The trilogy is called "A Tale of Blood and Tears" and the backbone of this trilogy is that life is rough and you're going to cry, you're going to bleed, but that doesn't mean you give up. you don't take the easy way out just because you've lost hope. Sometimes you need to keep pushing.
