Featured Interview With Prashanth Chakkula
Tell us a little about yourself. Where were you raised? Where do you live now?
I was born, raised, and completed my graduation in Hyderabad, India. I belong to a middle-class family. Currently, I live in India and work for a renowned tech company. I love watching pet videos but afraid to own one. I love playing games like Badminton, Cricket, Volleyball, and Table tennis. However, I am neither a pro nor a beginner in all of the sports mentioned.
At what age did you realize your fascination with books? When did you start writing?
My bond with books is not that great. However, during my graduation course, I was gifted a novel as I have topped in academics. Since it is a gift, I opened up the book and read it for days. The name of the book is Alchemist. A lot of one-liners or my perception of an incident provoked me to think in a different direction. I wanted to write a travel blog as I am fond of traveling but felt that it might not excite people.
In one of the destinations, I came across a historical story that tied with sages. First, the idea seemed intriguing, which then inspired me to develop a story out of it. The other side of the silence- the hidden strength revolves around that point with medical touch.
Who are your favorite authors to read? What is your favorite genre to read. Who Inspires you in your writings?
My favourite author to read is Arthur Conan Doyle. My interest in thrillers and investigation increased when I read about the hound of the Baskervilles in my school. Paulo Coelho is one more author whose Alchemist I read during my graduation. There are a lot of regional and national screenwriters whose work I admire a lot. My circumstances inspire me to write some good stuff that engages the audience.
Tell us a little about your latest book?
My latest book, named The other side of silence – the hidden strength, revolves around a couple. The ordinary yet mysterious deaths of their near ones trigger them to find the culprit. But are the deaths coincidental as they seem? Or is there an external power that's causing them? I want the audience to judge. This novel would stir new perceptions about how people deal with the challenges they face. When I was traveling around, a couple of exciting experiences and stories motivated me to explore it as a concept for a book.
