Featured Interview With Karen Cogan
Tell us a little about yourself. Where were you raised? Where do you live now?
I'm Karen Cogan, author of clean contemporary and historical romance and children's books. I grew up in Houston, Texas near the Gulf Coast. A number of years ago, we moved to northwestern New Mexico for my husband's art business. We have four daughters and nine grandchildren. Plus, we've had lots of pets! At the moment we have cats and dogs and a horse. That's now much compared to what we've had before.
At what age did you realize your fascination with books? When did you start writing?
I loved books from the time I was a young child. Before I could write, I conned my sister into penning my stories as I told them to her. I loved creative writing in school and sent a story to Reader's Digest when I was in eighth grade. I never got that one published. Yet, I did begin to publish in my mid-twenties. Later, I even got a story in the humor section of Reader's Digest. To date, I have published over thirty book in both the traditional and self-publishing platform.
Who are your favorite authors to read? What is your favorite genre to read. Who Inspires you in your writings?
In the genre of psychological suspense, my favorite authors have varied over time. However, I like Dean Koontz novels for his descriptions and intriguing plots. His stories inspire my writing.
I also like to read Jane Austen. Her work also inspire my Regency novels.
Tell us a little about your latest book?
My latest works are a series in which a grandmother is a central connection in the lives of couples who work through their differences and find the love they have been seeking.
