Now under the pen name Jan Marie she has entered the book world with her first fantasy romance novella "Angelic Confessions." She is currently working on Book 2 in the series titled “Angelic Awakenings”.
At what age did you realize your fascination with books? When did you start writing?
I believe my love of books stemmed from my mother. I remember her reading books always as a child. I had my own kids books, but I always was fascinated more at watching her read. Little did she know that that simple act instilled the love of literature in a small child. It stayed with me forever.
I didn't start officially putting pen to paper and write until I was 13. I discovered poetry and loved it decided to try it out.
Who are your favorite authors to read? What is your favorite genre to read. Who Inspires you in your writings?
I am a fiction lover. I love Stephen King, Anne Rice, Sherrilyn Kenyon. These are also my authors I fell in love with and inspired me to give this writing thing a shot. King and Rice being the most predominate. It was not what they wrote, but their story of how they wrote. why they wrote that inspired me the most. I could relate. They still inspire me to this day. Whenever I feel down and out I just remember them. How they did not give up in doing what they love.
Tell us a little about your latest book?
It's my breakout novella titled Angelic Confessions. It was originally written as a script and to be a graphic novel. I then decided to switch it to manuscript form to be a book. In graphic novel form, it was to be a series. As a book, I was not sure it would be a series. In the end, Angelic Confessions turned out to be a series and Angelic Confessions is the first book in the series. I am currently working on book 2 which is titled Angelic Awakenings. The book at first glance is an epic paranormal romance book. If you read it again from a different perspective it has a whole new meaning. I made daring questions in there like God may not be perfect. God worries, he gets scared. He is a Father just like everyone else. Do angels love? Things like that. My dialect in the book is also different and what has made most readers talk. In my mind, God, the angels they have their own language. There is even evidence if you google online you can find the angelic language in such. So when my angels talk to tell their story their dialect is a more old world than modern, because that is really the last time they had major human contact was in ancient times according to the bible. I incorporated that too into the book to keep in mind they are angels still.
