At what age did you realize your fascination with books? When did you start writing?
I realized my fascination with books at a young age, likely in my early childhood while growing up in a village in Kerala, India. Surrounded by the simplicity and beauty of village life, books became my window to the world. The Bible, with its profound wisdom and guidance, played a significant role in shaping my love for reading and my values. It inspired me to see storytelling and writing as a way to touch lives and share knowledge.
I started writing much later in life, when my professional experiences and personal growth gave me the confidence and purpose to share my insights. My journey as a nurse researcher and my passion for helping others through education and empowerment naturally transitioned into writing. My first steps into authorship were driven by a desire to simplify complex topics and provide actionable advice to those seeking to improve their lives. It’s been an incredible journey of blending my expertise, creativity, and passion for making a difference.
Who are your favorite authors to read? What is your favorite genre to read. Who Inspires you in your writings?
Apart from Jesus and the Bible, which have been a foundational influence in my life, I enjoy reading authors who bring wisdom, inspiration, and practical knowledge. While I appreciate a variety of authors, I’m particularly drawn to those who write with depth and purpose. This includes classic thinkers and contemporary writers who explore themes of personal growth, faith, healthcare, and human connection.
Favorite Genre to Read:
My favorite genres are self-help, inspirational non-fiction, and health and wellness. I gravitate toward books that are both empowering and educational, particularly those that focus on improving lives through practical advice, understanding human behavior, and nurturing a sense of purpose.
Books on healthcare innovations, women’s wellness, and social connection resonate deeply with me because they align with my professional interests as a nurse researcher and my passion for helping others.
Who Inspires My Writing:
My writing is inspired by several sources:
My Faith: The teachings of Jesus and the Bible provide constant guidance, offering timeless wisdom about compassion, resilience, and human connection.
My Work in Research: My firsthand experiences as a nurse researcher focused on curing cancer have shaped my perspective on how to communicate complex medical information in an accessible way.
Everyday People: The stories of individuals—patients, colleagues, and loved ones—who show courage, vulnerability, and determination inspire my desire to write for real-world impact.
Authors Who Simplify Complexity: Writers like Atul Gawande, Brené Brown, and others who bridge technical expertise with storytelling inspire me to make challenging topics relatable and engaging.
Ultimately, I write with the goal of making a meaningful difference, driven by my belief in the power of knowledge and connection to transform lives.
