Tell us a little about yourself. Where were you raised? Where do you live now?
My name is Dee Rose and I was born and raised in Gary, IN. I currently live in Denver, CO. I have an AA from the Community College of Aurora and I currently attend Metro State University of Denver, majoring in Political Science. I have two daughters, who are my main motivation to write.
At what age did you realize your fascination with books? When did you start writing?
I started writing when I was about 17 and I entered a poetry contest in my high school English class. I joined the Navy after HS and got away from writing while there. However, when I got out, I started writing poems and raps. Eventually, one of my raps, called the Hangman, brought me back to my love for writing and I started writing the first book in the Hangman Universe (HMU) of the same name.
Who are your favorite authors to read? What is your favorite genre to read. Who Inspires you in your writings?
I grew up reading Stephen King books; Cujo, Carrie and books of that nature. I am a huge fan of comic books and graphic novels. I love reading fantasy books. I love drifting off into a different world.
Tell us a little about your latest book?
My latest book is entitled, The Hangman: Vengeance, and is the final book (out of ten) in the Hangman Universe. The Hangman was tricked into entering the wrong portal at the end of The Death Brothers: A Supernatural Awakening. He thought the portal would lead him to Purgatory and his dead wife and son. However, he ended up in an alternate dimension and it took him five months to find his way back to Earth. Now, he wants revenge on the perpetrators of the deception. They were the vampire slayer, Jericho Caine, the demon hunter Father Tom Padilla, the Grand Librarian and wizard, Alexander Merryweather, and the witch Susan Taki.
However, the demon lord and the new leader of the underworld,` Leechadon, wants to take over the Earth and recruits a witch, zombie, and another demon lord to help. He also enlists her protege, the vampire lord Dracool (he was obsessed with Dracula as a child). Leechadon forms an alliance with the Hangman in an attempt to destroy Earth's defenders. Death and chaos ensue on both sides and leads to a showdown in downtown New York City.
