Featured Interview With Author David Angelo
Tell us a little about yourself. Where were you raised? Where do you live now?
I was born and raised in Maryland, the only child of two loving parents who worked in carpentry and food service respectively. I currently live in Montgomery County, working as a middle school English teacher in a neighboring district. My fiance and I are getting married in a few weeks, and together we have a mischievous orange tabby cat and a very laid-back Shih Tzu.
At what age did you realize your fascination with books? When did you start writing?
As an only child, I had a lot of time to think uninterrupted, and as such I found pleasure in creating my own stories. I didn't begin writing until I was a teenager though, and I would say that I wrote my first true novel when I was 19. Since then, I've written and published three novels, and I currently have a fourth, "Scales of Rage", which is scheduled for release this fall.
Who are your favorite authors to read? What is your favorite genre to read. Who Inspires you in your writings?
I love Stephen King, who I consider my greatest influence. I also enjoy the works of Tui T. Southerland and Ian Flemming. I usually read whatever interests me, and I've started to branch out more into other genres and authors.
Tell us a little about your latest book?
The Skies Over Lisandra is a fantasy romance novel about a princess, Anastasia, who is murdered on her wedding day and is reincarnated as a dragon. Throughout the novel, as she attempts to help her brother in his quest to re-take the family throne, Anastasia finds herself torn between her duty and her relationship with her secret girlfriend, Sasha. The novel is full of intrigue and adventure, and while short, it offers a sample of what I am capable of as a novelist.
