Featured Interview With Cynthia Sax
Tell us a little about yourself. Where were you raised? Where do you live now?
I'm an USA Today bestselling author, am currently writing steamy cyborg and alien romances. I've been fortunate to have written stories that were featured in Star Magazine, Real Time With Bill Maher, and numerous best of romance top ten lists.
I love terrible puns and all things space and, of course, my Dear Wonderful Hubby. When I'm not deep in the writing cave, we're usually traveling the world.
At what age did you realize your fascination with books? When did you start writing?
I started writing as soon as I could hold a crayon. I was a daily diary writer, telling myself fantastical stories. I wrote for a daily and a weekly newsletter when I was in high school. I had a column that covered topics like town council meetings and that was when I realized that hey, people got paid for writing. I thought that was wondrous!
Who are your favorite authors to read? What is your favorite genre to read. Who Inspires you in your writings?
I first fell in love with cyborg romances when I read Burning Up Flint by Laurann Dohner. I was always fascinated with cyborgs and I love romances. I didn't realize, before reading that story, cyborgs could be the heroes in romances. That shifted my universe.
I then gobbled up stories by cyborg romance writers like Eve Langlais and Mina Carter.
Tell us a little about your latest book?
Warlord's Mercy is an alien romance featuring a dangerous barbarian warrior and an extremely chatty human female. Tolui, the Warlord hero, was the villain of the first four books in the series. I LOVE the villain-turned-hero trope. Those heroes are the ultimate bad boys. (grins)
I'm currently juggling two series (this alien romance series and the cyborg romance series) and I release a story every two months, which gives readers of the series a story every four months.
