Featured Interview With Author Britt Lind
Tell us a little about yourself. Where were you raised? Where do you live now?
My early years were spent in my hometown of Sauda, Norway and roaming the mountains above the fjord. I loved living there but my parents, for some reason, decided to move to Seattle and that's where I grew up. I've lived all over the country as the wife of a Navy pilot and my favorite place to live was the Carmel/Monterey area. That's where I first began doing stage plays. Through the years and all the moves, I've always had animals as my best friends.
At what age did you realize your fascination with books? When did you start writing?
As soon as I learned English in grade school I began reading voraciously. I started writing stories in the third grade and realized that I loved it. When I made a huge hit in class reciting a poem "Daffodils" I knew writing and acting were my two favorite things.
Who are your favorite authors to read? What is your favorite genre to read. Who Inspires you in your writings?
I've read almost every true crime book ever written but Ann Rule is my favorite. I also love thrillers and mysteries, but Gregg Hurwitz is by far the best writer in the genre. He is a genius thriller writer and inspires me to write better.
Tell us a little about your latest book?
Malevolence is my third book about a homocide detective turned prosecutor, Rosemaria Baker, and her singer, songwriter fiance, Josh Sibley. Both are becoming more and more successful in their fields. Rosemaria enjoys putting people in jail instead of just arresting them and watching them go free. When two girls that Rosemaria helped get off the streets of Hollywood are targeted by criminals, she has to find protection for them and investigate the murder of another working girl. Balancing her job in the prosecutor's office with the murder investigation proves to be formidable but she has a personal interest in the outcome and cannot be disuaded from tracking down the killers. At the same time, Josh is on another mission altogether, and with the help of a famous singer, he comes up with a solution for freeing a suffering animal from his brutal prison at the L.A. zoo.
