Featured Interview With Author Barbara D Sontheimer
Tell us a little about yourself. Where were you raised? Where do you live now?
Hello, I am a longtime Missouri resident, which is why my first novel Victor's Blessing was set in Missouri because I figured at least I would not have to do research about the flora, fauna and climate.
I know live part time at Lake of the Ozarks Missouri, and anywhere else my husband parks the RV.
At what age did you realize your fascination with books? When did you start writing?
I started writing at nine, with a terrible story that my poor mother had to listen to over and over again! It was a ghost story, and I am sure the ony thing at all scary about it was how hideous it was. God bless mothers.
Who are your favorite authors to read? What is your favorite genre to read. Who Inspires you in your writings?
I read mostly historical fiction, I do not seem to have the same interest in a book if it has a character using a cell phone. I always have the feeling that I was born in the wrong century, and gobble up history to hopefully find my right place.
Tell us a little about your latest book?
My latest novel, The Mutiny Brides, deals with the trials and tribulations of women wrongly imprisoned in France and then sent in chains against their will to what later became New Orleans.
The records of what happened to these women had been misflied in the French archives for 200 YEARS. When I heard that I knew I had to tell the story.
