Featured Interview With Author Antonia Church
Tell us a little about yourself. Where were you raised? Where do you live now?
When I was a young girl growing up in the cold and snowy upper Midwest, I would watch afternoon soaps like Days of Our Lives and Passions with my grandmother. Now, I live in sunny Florida and write books like those shows full of romance and drama–only my tales are a lot steamier and sandier than those northern afternoons…
At what age did you realize your fascination with books? When did you start writing?
I’ve read since I was little, where you could find my little nose between the pages of an Archie comic with Betty and Veronica fighting for romance. When I got older, I wanted to write tales a little bolder and bawdier than the Riverdale characters, but with romance still at the center of each story.
Who are your favorite authors to read? What is your favorite genre to read. Who Inspires you in your writings?
My favorite author is Jane Austen, because Pride and Prejudice is the holy grail of swoon reads. My favorite book is To Kill a Mockingbird, because perfection knows no genre.
Tell us a little about your latest book?
Set in Central Florida, my story follows six diverse families in seaside Salem Crossing vying for power in a city they’ve fought over for a hundred years. The tale is full of romance, betrayal, danger, murder, mystery, excitement, passion, and surprise twists. Come visit sunny Salem Crossing and stay awhile. Each book takes about six months to get to the submission stage, with revisions with the publisher before it hits the market. I’ve been able to publish twice a year for the last two years, including my next release…Salem Crossing Book 4: Hurricane.
