Featured Interview With Al W Moe
Tell us a little about yourself. Where were you raised? Where do you live now?
I've been writing for about 20 years, raised in a military household so we lived overseas (Japan was my favorite port), east and west coasts of the US. I'm in Hawaii now, married with four daughters and our dog Lucy.
At what age did you realize your fascination with books? When did you start writing?
I was a slow reader and didn't get hooked until I was in the fifth grade, mostly reading Scholastic books about sports stars. I learned to appreciate writing when I was in High School and we had to read our papers out loud. Watching the other student's reactions was educational and fun.
Who are your favorite authors to read? What is your favorite genre to read. Who Inspires you in your writings?
I've read most of Lee Child's book, enjoy Hemmingway, King, Grisham, and Tony Hillerman, as well as Patricia Cornwell. My wife and children inspire me to write clearly with at least some sense of humor.
Tell us a little about your latest book?
My latest book is the follow-up to "Getting Thin is Murder," an action-adventure and personal-detective story where an ex-ballplayer is trying to figure out just who is behind some well-disguised murders. He's not anti-social, but he lacks a filter when talking, so he's abrupt but brilliant.
