Death in Lights by SR Garrae
Book 5 of the Casey & Carval series.
Be sure your sins will find you out.
Ambition…envy…lust. But murder is the deadliest sin of all.
Isabella Farquar was found murdered outside the Manhattan theatre where she was to star as Titania in an experimental production of A Midsummer Night’s Dream. But which sin caused her death? As Casey and her misfit team of detectives uncover ambition, envy and lust at every turn, the multiplicity of motives leaves them swimming in a sea of suspects.
Casey’s only ambition is to catch the killer. But her lover, Carval, is opening the blockbuster exhibition that will cement his own ambition to be the most famous reality photographer ever – and provide an opportunity for Casey’s envious co-workers to try to bring her down.
Ambition…envy…lust – and murder. Casey has to ensure that the killer’s sins will find them out.

SR Garrae grew up in Scotland and then worked in international finance in London until her retirement. She lives in the UK with her family, who are somewhat bemused by but supportive of her complete change of career.
She always loved books, but didn't start to write original fiction until after she retired. She now balances writing with travel, reluctant but very necessary gym visits, and designing her own book covers.
Modern, romantic cop stories are the stories she had always turned to as a go-to read, and always loved.
She writes a series of books about Casey, Carval, and the misfit team of detectives that Casey leads: Death in Focus, Death in Camera, Death in Sight, Death in Frenzy, and the latest, Death in Lights.
