About A Distant Dream by Vivienne Dockerty
A Distant Dream is third in the series of my historical sagas. Molly, the three year old sister of Maggie from A Woman Undefeated, is snatched from her cot by the Filbey’s, a childless farming couple, and taken on an emigration ship to Australia. The year is 1847 and begins in Ireland when the Potato Famine has claimed so many lives. The story tells of hardship, poverty and the hopes of so many people to have a better life in a far and distant land. My books are based on my Irish ancestors from where I get my strength and inspiration from.
