Featured Interview With Stella May
Tell us a little about yourself. Where were you raised? Where do you live now?
I was born in former USSR, immigrated to the United States in 1991. I graduated with the highest honors from the Music Academy and earned my Master’s Degree in Musicology. A resident of Saint Johns, Florida, I am a part owner of a family real estate business along with my husband and son.
At what age did you realize your fascination with books? When did you start writing?
I learned to read very early. I honestly can’t say when my fascination with books started, but I cannot remember myself without a book or a piece of paper, because as soon as learned to read, I started to write. My first poem was written at the age of five.
Who are your favorite authors to read? What is your favorite genre to read. Who Inspires you in your writings?
So many favorite authors! To name just a few: Pushkin, Dickens, Balzac, Remarque, Émile Zola, Theodore Dreiser, John Galsworthy, and many, many others. My favorite genre is a family saga.
Tell us a little about your latest book?
I’m working on my next book, a full-length novel called “Rhapsody in Dreams”. This book first started out as a side project, but soon turned into a fascinating undertaking which I couldn’t stop thinking about or writing. Set in modern-day St. Augustine, FL (my home turf), this love story has a slight fantasy twist. In this book, I have ventured (along with my heroes) into the world of dreams and past-life remembrance. I can’t wait for you to read it!
