Featured Interview With Ramcy Diek
Tell us a little about yourself. Where were you raised? Where do you live now?
I was born and raised in The Netherlands. In 1989, I moved to the United States with my husband and currently live in the beautiful Pacific Northwest.
We have two cats. Miauw. And two adult sons.
At what age did you realize your fascination with books? When did you start writing?
Silly me, at age 12 I thought I had read every book in the entire country. I was so wrong. Grin. New books come out each day. Not all of them good. But I LOVE reading, and always leave reviews.
It wasn’t until 2002, at the ripe age of forty, that I wrote my first novel. Before then, it had never even occurred to me. I was just too busy living life.
Of course my love for books gave me the tools I use now to hopefully become a successful author.
Who are your favorite authors to read? What is your favorite genre to read. Who Inspires you in your writings?
I have always been inspired by Sidney Sheldon. He wrote about strong women, and I love that. As I get older, it gets harder and harder to find books that pull me in. I’m always open for suggestions.
Tell us a little about your latest book?
My first book, Storm at Keizer Manor, is a historical time travel romance novel. It’s inspired by Back to the Future, and is supposed to be taken as a lighthearted story. It is received very well, and already earned two awards. One bronze medal from Readers’ Favorites and a Finalist Award from American Book Fest. Be prepared to meet Annet, my witty, sassy, sometimes too outspoken heroine. Her story came to life over the course of fifteen years. I poured my heart and soul into it. You’ll love it. (I hope)
