Tell us a little about yourself. Where were you raised? Where do you live now?
Born and raised in England. I live in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. I don't have any pets.
At what age did you realize your fascination with books? When did you start writing?
16. I started writing when I did two research assignments during my third year at University. It was also a work experience year during which the research enabled me to write two of them in Rennes, France and Berlin. They are in French and German.
Who are your favorite authors to read? What is your favorite genre to read. Who Inspires you in your writings?
Subjects are politics, history, and society. I enjoy reading books that are a combination of all 3. They influenced my research assignments and also my forthcoming book. Future books of mine will also be shaped by them.
Tell us a little about your latest book?
It is distinct from domestic and international news sources, as they only reveal a partial aspect of China and the Chinese population as it really is. The culture has developed for many millennia, and has affected modern history as well as present day events. The Trouble With China explains how it affects the present day, with a lot of analysis of the best known recent events and how they affect present-day China which many are still curious about, such as the Cultural Revolution, the Tiananmen Square massacre and the recent and still ongoing issues in Hong Kong.
