Featured Interview With Pascha Moore Kelley
Tell us a little about yourself. Where were you raised? Where do you live now?
I was raised in a small town in Alabama by a close-knit, southern family. We loved to go camping, attended church every time the doors were open, ate good food, and loved University of Alabama sports. When I went to college, I didn’t consider going anywhere else but Alabama. I majored in Finance and moved to Birmingham to start my career.
For 20 years, I worked for a startup pharmaceutical company that became a multi-million dollar business. Now, I’m a Zig Ziglar speaker and trainer. My book, The Magnetic Advantage, combines Ziglar principles with my experiences in the corporate world.
I live in Birmingham with my husband, Mike. We have a blended family with six kids. My beloved dog, Bryant, is my constant companion.
At what age did you realize your fascination with books? When did you start writing?
It seems like I’ve always loved to read. I imagine that my obsession with books started in middle school. It helps that I grew up during a time when we only had three major TV channels and no internet. 😊
As a math gal, I hadn’t planned to be a writer. However, God had different plans. He kept pushing me until I sat down in September 2017 and started writing. As it turns out, I had a lot to share about business!
Who are your favorite authors to read? What is your favorite genre to read. Who Inspires you in your writings?
My favorite genre is motivational / inspiration books. I always strive to be my very best and I’m a encourager, so this genre is a natural fit for me. No wonder I turned out to be a motivational speaker! Joel Osteen and Joyce Meyer are my two of my favorite authors in this category.
Business is another favorite genre. Truthfully, I love everything business and enjoy learning all that I can! Zig Ziglar, Jim Collins, and John Maxwell are some of my favorites in this area.
I’m a history buff and enjoy learning about my ancestry, so historical fiction is a favorite genre. The Outlander series by Diana Gabaldon is my favorite in this category. Nora Roberts is another of my go-to authors.
Sci-fi and paranormal romance are other fiction genres that I enjoy. Molly Harper is my new favorite author in this area. Her books are about supernatural creatures, but they are written with great wit and humor! Plus, they take place in the south, my part of the country
Tell us a little about your latest book?
My book, The Magnetic Advantage, is designed to help business leaders improve their people management skills. My motto is “You don’t build a business – you build people – and people build the business.” (Zig Ziglar) I believe that people management should be a strategic priority for every company.
Businesses have tight budgets these days, especially startups and small businesses. As an entrepreneur, I can relate to budget constraints! With this in mind, I provide low-cost, high-impact strategies to improve profits. The Magnetic Advantage teaches how to:
• Create an engaged workforce
• Reduce employee turnover
• Enhance your leadership skills
• Effectively manage difficult employees
• Create a great business culture
• Improve your return on investment (ROI) in employee programs
• Develop effective employee communications
This book is designed for business leaders aspiring to master their market, companies with high turnover and low employee engagement, the new business owner and leaders looking to attract top talent.
