Featured Interview With Edna J. White
Tell us a little about yourself. Where were you raised? Where do you live now?
I answer the call of mom from 3 wonderful adult children now while I live on Long Island. My journey began where I was raised, good ol' Alabama migrating here to Patchogue with my parent and there grew up. I survived the real estate industry successfully until retiring in July 2016. That is when I went full time writing soon to after being published recommended by the national organization of RAINN & American SPCC, I began to tell my story of being a survivor internationally with support groups and that's when I found my next life calling as The Survivors Life Coach. So I gathered all my experience, skills and knowledge and I created a non-profit organization called 2nd Chance, Inc. I enjoy life and I am learning to love myself that way I can love others the right way.
At what age did you realize your fascination with books? When did you start writing?
I began writing at the age of 5 years old. I would sit and write stories to God on what I wanted my life to be like.
Who are your favorite authors to read? What is your favorite genre to read. Who Inspires you in your writings?
You know I really do not have favorite writers. I enjoy anything that enhances my life and tickles my imagination. My first inspiration was myself and my story as a childhood sexual abuse survivor.
Tell us a little about your latest book?
My latest book is dedicated to Children Prevention Week. It is a story about an 8-year-old who wants to help other kids and families support each other from the possibilities of sexual abuse and bullying. It is a picture book written in simple and easy wording, so that parents, teachers, and caregivers can have the talk with their kids.
