He met her, in the middle of the always-rising ocean, and suddenly he had so much more to live for. And so much more to fear.
Beckett is waiting for the paddlers, telling them to head east or else, and worrying, because the water just keeps rising. Luna is alone. A nomadic paddleboarder without a family. A disaster, but she can’t admit it, because some words are too painful to speak out loud.
He tries to rise above his fear. She tries to seem brave. He needs the security of land. She needs the safety of a family. Somehow, through lies and misunderstandings, they realize they need each other more than anything else in the Drowning-Under-Too-Much-Water world.

I love to tell stories where the characters are ordinary and in way over their head, where everything is a disaster, yet they kiss in the end, so it’s all good. I have a lot of hope. I also like a lot of drama. Also I love a kick ass girl and a hot boy. I have been accused of writing every story so that Liam Hemsworth wins the girl in the end, but that’s nonsense. Probably. Besides, girls aren’t prizes. But Liam would get a kiss in my books, definitely.
I live as close to the beach as I can afford (which is miles, not feet) and dip my toes in whenever possible. That’s why my characters always surf, or paddleboard, or dig in the sand. My address sounds like it might be within the environs of Los Angeles (a super big place if you haven’t been here) in real life and online at http://www.hdknightley.com
