Featured Interview With Faye Hall
Tell us a little about yourself. Where were you raised? Where do you live now?
I write Australian Historical Romances, each filled with passion, deceit and murder.
I try to encompass much of my own families history into my books, as well as setting most of them in my home town in North Queensland, Australia.
I am happily married to her childhood sweetheart and soulmate and living in North Queensland.
At what age did you realize your fascination with books? When did you start writing?
My parents always encouraged me to read, even before I started school. I started writing poems and ditties in primary school. It was in High school that I ventured into writing full length novels.
Who are your favorite authors to read? What is your favorite genre to read. Who Inspires you in your writings?
I prefer to read romances, mainly Amanda Quick novels. I also love Arthur Conan Doyle, Agatha Christie, To kill a Mockingbird and Lord of Flies.
Tell us a little about your latest book?
My latest release, Heart of Stone, is slightly different from my other books. The idea for that book came more from the unspoken history of blackbirding in our area of Australia. For those that don’t know, blackbirding was the title given to the slave trade in Australia’s past, mostly dealing with the islanders called Kanakas that were forcibly brought into the country. The main female character in the book is in fact an Irish slave, another scandalous past of Australian history.
